In today’s JBR episode, Agents Wright and Dobson will be discussing all things horology as they delve deeply into The Watches of Bond (Part I).

Bond’s timepiece of choice has often ignited debate… which brand of watch should he wear? What is Bond’s most iconic timepiece? How much does Bond’s watch say about the man himself?

The fascination and mystery around Bond’s watches come as no surprise given Fleming was a man who appreciated the finer things in life, including what he wore upon his wrist. In his case, a Rolex Explorer 1016. “A gentleman’s choice of timepiece says as much about him as does his Saville Row suit.”

Join Chris and Brian as they discuss the watches of Bond from Dr No through to For Your Eyes Only, including how the watches were portrayed, any gadgets that were utilised, and some nifty trivia along the way. There’ll be watches that are familiar to one and all, some recognised only by eagle-eyed viewers, and others that have yet to be identified!

There are also bonus watches to be considered along the way. Although not worn by Bond, they have all made a memorable impact on their characters and the films themselves.

There may even be a little Bond horology quiz at the end to round things off. So, sit back and relax like you have all the time in the world. You won’t want to miss this cracking JBR episode!

In today’s all new Comics of Bond, JBR episode, Jack Lugo and Dan Gale interview legendary comicbook artist and writer Mike Grell.

From 1989-1990 Mike Grell created arguably the best Bond comic original series, Permission To Die. The 3 issue comic reads very much like a lost Bond film delivering an unparalleled reading experience that still holds up very nicely to this very day.

Set during the Cold War, Permission To Die finds Bond tasked with rescuing the niece of a scientist with launching technology that can seemingly help serve the interests of western governments.

When the scientist turns out to be a megalomaniac hellbent on destruction for what he believes to be the betterment of mankind, Bond must do everything he can to stop him.

Grell also wrote and drew the comic book adaptation of Licence To Kill in 1989. Jack and Dan take a deep dive into the story behind Mike Grell’s work on his Bond comics finding out about Grell’s influences, his life, and career.

Permission To Die contains a number of references and homages Bond fans will deeply appreciate including Bond in a kilt during the pre-titles action sequence as well as the inclusion of Kerim Bey’s daughter as a key character in one of the issues.

JBR Returns after the summer break with a fresh look at all things No Time To Die.

We discuss the posters, the trailers, the November release date, the box office potential given the current COVID situation, and speculate on what might happen to the Bond franchise post No Time To Die.

If you’ve been avoiding all the trailers and trying to stay as spoiler free as possible, then don’t be afraid. We provide a clear warning once the NTTD discussion begins.

JBR returns with the long awaited follow up to our audiobook recording of Christopher Wood's, 'The Spy Who Loved Me' novelisation. Every week over the summer we'll be releasing 2 chapters of Christopher Wood's Moonraker.

If you've never read it before you're in for some surprises. The book reads like a darker, grittier version of the film we all know and love. With extra scenes, back story and plot details that don't feature on screen, you'll never look at Sir Roger's outer space adventure the same way again.

It's time for another Big James Bond Quiz, this time powered by the creativity and enthusiasm of the JBR Family itself.

As mentioned in last week's MI6 Mailbag episode, JBR listeners Rory Couper & John Ward have been hosting a Friday Night Bond Quiz on Zoom with assembled members of the JBR Family. So we thought what better way to see in the beginning of Summer, than by bringing them on the podcast for some 00 trivial excitement.

Grab a pen and paper and get ready to test your Bond skills.

Warning: If you thought our usual Boxing Day Quiz was challenging, John & Rory's questions will blow your mind.

We are joined by an all-time legend on this week's episode of James Bond Radio.

The world's greatest stuntman, Vic Armstrong tells us all about his work on Bond (and beyond) over the years. From his first Bond appearance as a volcano ninja in You Only Live Twice, to doubling Bond in Live & Let Die, leaping off castle walls on horseback in Never Say Never Again, and many more. You'll hear the unlikely inspiration behind the Thames boat chase from The World is Not Enough. You'll hear stories of nasty injuries picked up in the line of duty, a Bond idea that made it into a non-Bond movie, and even Vic's thoughts on THAT scene from Die Another Day.

All this and more on this week's episode of James Bond Radio.

This week's podcast sees the return of Robert Sellers. Long time listeners will remember Robert from his first JBR appearance talking about his book, 'The Battle For Bond,' (podcast #012) way back in 2014.

Robert is back with a new Bond book titled, 'When Harry Met Cubby: The Story of the James Bond Producers.'

Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman remain the most successful producing partnership in movie history. But their relationship was fraught almost from the very beginning. With such contrasting personalities, their interactions often span out of control. They managed to drive away their coveted star, Sean Connery, and ultimately each other.

No other film franchise inspires tourism the way the James Bond series does. From Switzerland’s revolving Piz Gloria restaurant that was featured prominently in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” to Thailand’s island of Khao Phing Kan where the climax of “The Man with the Golden Gun” was set, Bond movie locations continue to attract countless visitors each year. And topping the travel bucket list of every serious Bond fan is the country of Jamaica, where scenes from “Dr. No,” “Live and Let Die,” and the upcoming “No Time to Die” were shot.

This week, Variety writer, Matt Chernov joins us to talk about his recent Jamaican 007 adventure.

This week Dan Gale is getting sketchier than usual. He talks to blogger, artist and collector Peter Lorenz, creator of Illustrated007.blogspot.com

Peter became fascinated by James Bond after watching “The Spy Who Loved Me” in 1977 at the age of 10. Over the years he's compiled a nice collection, mostly items with interesting artwork and books.

Rather than wanting to own everything, he started a virtual collection which, presently, amounts to 55,000 files and counting...
